Somewhere safe and far from the troubles and chaos of the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18243\" src=\"https:\/\/drzzs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_4751-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>We finally found our Place in the summer of 2020. It is a beautiful hilly 40 acre lot in South East Idaho.&nbsp; There&#8217;s a large flat plateau that sits above everything else. The plateau is about 5 acres.&nbsp; The rest of the lot is a &#8220;Y&#8221; shaped valley. There is a knoll that sits downhill from the plateau at an elevation about 1\/3 of the way between the level of the plateau and the bottom of the valley.&nbsp; The whole lot is covered with waist-high grass.&nbsp; From the top of the plateau you can see for miles in every direction and the whole landscape is rolling hills leading to tall mountains in the distance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18245\" src=\"https:\/\/drzzs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-28-at-5.47.50-PM-300x262.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"262\"><\/p>\n<p>We want to build something really big, where ~50 people could gather for large family reunions, but we don&#8217;t have the means to do that just yet.&nbsp; So in the meantime we were looking for smaller more affordable options.&nbsp; Since the land is hilly and grassy, it wasn&#8217;t hard to image a village of hobbits living in cozy holes in the hills.&nbsp; So we decided building a Hobbit Hole was the right thing to do.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18244\" src=\"https:\/\/drzzs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/hobbiton_nov-2019-sjp-346-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\"><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s our inspiration.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve got a lot more to say about how we got to this point.&nbsp; I&#8217;ll be making frequent posts here of our progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ya, we&#8217;re building a hobbit hole.&nbsp; That probably deserves some background.&nbsp; We&#8217;ve talked for years about someday having a place we can go to get away.&nbsp; A place we can gather with people we love.
